Coming to waste management, it is always a hassle for the authorities to find a complete solution in disposal of the same. Developing countries like India, where wastages are dumped directly into public places and water resources; it is an intricate situation which is not addressed yet. Polluted air and water are the major cause of environmental crisis in India. Lack of sophisticated system to dispose wastages lets the public and government authorities ignore the importance of neat and clean environment. Social responsibility is always treated as a ‘not my job’ thing by them.

Fuel also can be generated from waste. Methane generated from landfill gas is a fuel produced from wastage. Anaerobic digestion is another method to produce bio-gas from wastages like sewage, food waste etc. The bio-gas thus produced can be used directly for cooking and heating home.
Along with conventional methods of producing energy from wastage, advanced technologies are also being used by many countries. Gasification is an advanced conversion to produce combustible gas which is a combination of carbon monoxide, hydrogen, carbon dioxide and methane. This gas is ready to use directly for generating heat and electricity. Pyrolysis is another method of conversion to produce combustible gas, oil or solid char (sometimes known as biocoal). Technology can be chosen depending on the nature of available wastage.
The recycling of wastage contributes a lot to the environment, society and health related solutions. Instead of depending of natural resources to produce energy, which often distracts the eco-system, a well planned system to produce energy is more economic and eco-friendly. It not only gives clean and safe environment and water to humane, but it also protects other species that equally shares this world with us. Inhabitants of oceans for example, discharging bulk amount of wastage into ocean have put inverse effect on the inhabitants. Wastages turned poison kills millions of creatures under water and sometimes it leads to the extinction of a species from the earth.

Global warming is the observed rise in climate system and its after effects. The main cause of global warming is the effect of green house gases such as carbon dioxide. Emissions from burning fossils also add to the increase of temperature. Earth's climate is influenced by the atmosphere which is in the first six miles or so. It contains the matters that creates atmosphere. Global warming not only increases the heat but leads to many natural calamities like melting of glaciers which will increase the sea level, ocean acidification, droughts, heavy rainfall etc.
The greenhouse effect is the course of action of emission and absorption of infrared radiation by gas elements in a planet's atmosphere warm its lower atmosphere and surface. Human activities after industrial revolution increased the emission of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. Deforestation as a part of 'revolutions' also contributed for making the climate instable. Emissions from industrial and household machineries kill the ozone layer in a slow and steady manner. It is after many years, after the increase in the climate changes that we observed it.
The impacts of global warming are not easy to digest. Its hands are too wider than we can imagine. Rising sea level is one of the impacts of global warming. As we know very well, 71% of earth's surface is water. If sea level increases, we will have to change this ratio and live in more congested area. The temperature that grows high makes glaciers in arctic area melt and it causes the increase of sea level. Global warming also affects the rainfall pattern. Unexpected flood or droughts would ruin the lives of all creatures in this planet. Vanishing of animal population is another threat that global warming puts forward. Insufficient resources and unpredictable climate changes will force species to vanish from the surface. We, human being are not safe, it can happen to us too. Outbreak of diseases is another crucial part of global warming. In a situation that is not supportive for survival, diseases can easily spread out and take lives with less effort.
The above said impacts are for those living in land. The creatures living under water also have to face serious effects of global warming. Excessive formation of carbonic acids in the ocean can destroy the eco system under water. Acidification makes water not usable for living. Those creatures which are surviving by eating other creatures starve for food and may die. It is because of the acidification which makes the marine food not eatable.
We can control global warming by rising energy sufficiency, encouraging green transportation, using renewable energy like solar power, bio-gas etc., reducing fossil fuel electricity, managing forests and agriculture, developing technology that avoids the use of carbon or eliminates carbon from every activity.
We have technology, we know how to create things that we need, we can collect data on anything on earth, it is a matter of understanding and commitment to lower the impacts of global warming in coming years.
Sunburn is a type of radiation burn that affects through over exposure to ultraviolet radiation. It affects living tissues like skin commonly from the Sun. Common symptoms of Sunburn includes reddish skin, dizziness and general fatigue. An excess of UV radiation can be severe in extreme cases. Though not all cloths are UV resistant, it is the most effective defense against Sunburn. While travelling in tropical environments, light colored long sleeved shirts and long trousers are perfect. പള്പ് ഫിക്ഷന് സിനിമയിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ രംഗം, പംപ്കിനും ഹണി ബണ്ണിയും റെസ്റ്റോറന്റ് കൊള്ളയടിക്കാന് പദ്ധതിയിടുന്ന രംഗം. റിസര്വോയര് ഡോഗ്സ് കണ്ടശേഷം ക്വെന്റിന്റെ അടുത്ത സിനിമയ്ക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരാളും ഈ രംഗം കാണുമ്പോഴേ ഇത് ഒരു ടരന്റിനോ പടം തന്നെയെന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നതില് ഒരു കുഴപ്പവുമില്ല. റിസര്വോയര് ഡോഗ്സിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ രംഗം ഓര്മ്മ വരുന്ന തരത്തിലാണ് ഈ രംഗവും മെനഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത്. അതിലും ഒരു റസ്റ്റോറന്റ് ഇതിലും ഒരു റസ്റ്റോറന്റ്. അതില് റെസ്റ്റോറന്റില് ഇരിക്കുന്ന കൊള്ളക്കൂട്ടം ഏകദേശം ആഹാരം കഴിച്ച് കഴിഞ്ഞ് സ്വാഭാവികമായി സംസാരിക്കുന്ന രംഗമാണ്. ഇതിലും ഏകദേശം ആഹാരം കഴിച്ച് കാപ്പി കുടിച്ച് കഴിയാനാകുമ്പോള് പം പ്കിന് ഹണി ബണ്ണിയോട് തന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശ്യം വിശദീകരിക്കുന്ന രംഗമാണ്. അതില് റസ്റ്റോറന്റില് ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന സര്വ്വര്മാരുടെ ജീവിതത്തിനേയും, ഇവര് കൊടുക്കുന്ന ടിപ്സ് അവര്ക്ക് എങ്ങിനെയെല്ലാം ഉപകരിക്കുമെന്നും ധാരാളം സംസാരിക്കുന്നു. ഇതില് കടകളുടെ മുതലാളികളേയും റെസ്റ്റോറന്റ് മുതലാളികളേയും താരതമ്യം ചെയ്ത് സംസാരിക്കുന്നു. അതില് രംഗം അവസാനിക്കുമ്പോള് മനോഹരമായി Little Green Bag പാട്ടിനോടൊപ്പം ടൈറ്റില് കാണിക്കും. ഇതി രംഗം അവസാനിക്കുമ്പോള് ഫ്രീസ് ആയി, Misirlouപാട്ടിണൊടൊപ്പം ടൈറ്റില് കാണിക്കുന്നു.
ഈ Misirlou പാട്ടിന്റെ പ്രത്യേകത എന്താണെന്നാല്, ‘The King of the Surf Guitar’ എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഡിക്ക് ടേല് (Dick Tale) സംഗീതം നല്കിയതാണീ പാട്ട്.സര്ഫ് മ്യൂസിക് എന്നാല് കടലില് സര്ഫിങ് ചെയ്യുന്നതില് നിന്നും വന്നതാണ്. അറുപതുകളില് പ്രശസ്തമായിരുന്ന സംഗീതരൂപമാണിത്. ഇതിന്റെ പിതാമഹന്മാരില് ഒരാളാണ് ഡിക്ടേല്. സര്ഫ് സംഗീതത്തിലെ പ്രധാന അംശം - അധികവും ഗായകര് ഇല്ലാതെ ഒരു ഗിറ്റാറോ അല്ലെങ്കില് സാക്സോഫോണോ മാത്രം ആയിരിക്കും പ്രധാനം. ഡിക് ടേല് ഇതില് പല പരീക്ഷണങ്ങളും നടത്തിയിട്ടുള്ള ആളാണ്. സംഗീതം തുടങ്ങി അതിന്റെ അലകളിലൂടെയുള്ള reverberationകളില് അവസാനിക്കുന്നത് വരെ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങള് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട് ഡിക് ടേല്. അങ്ങിനെ ഈ Misirlou പാട്ടിനെ ഏകദേശം 95 തരത്തില് പരീക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറയുന്നു. 1962 ഇല് പുറത്ത് വന്ന ഈ പാട്ട് ഇന്നും ഡിക് ടേലിന്റെ വലിയ ഹിറ്റുകളില് ഒന്നാണ്. ഈ പാട്ടുമായി സിനിമ തുടങ്ങുന്നതിന്റെ കാരണമെന്താണ്? ‘ഈ പാട്ട് സിനിമയുടെ തുടക്കത്തില് കേള്ക്കാന് തുടങ്ങുമ്പോള് സിനിമ കാണുന്ന ഓഡിയന്സിന് ഇതൊരു epic സിനിമയാണെന്ന തോന്നലുണ്ടാകും. ഈ സംഗീതത്തിന്റെ പ്രാധാന്യം അതാണ്. അതു മാത്രമല്ല എന്റെ സിനിമ വരും കാലങ്ങളില് പലരുടെയും ഓര്മ്മകളില് തങ്ങി നിര്ത്താനുള്ള കഴിവ് ഈ പാട്ടിനുണ്ടെന്ന് ഞാന് കരുതുന്നു’ ടരന്റിനോ പറയുന്നു.
ഇതാ Dick Tale ന്റെ Misirlou . ഈ പാട്ട്, ഒരു പഴയ middle east നാടന് പാട്ടിന്റെ ഗിറ്റാര് രൂപമാണ്.
ടൈറ്റിലിന്റെ പകുതിയ്ക്ക് വച്ച് ഈ പാട്ട് പെട്ടെന്ന് മാറി Jungle Boogie പാട്ട് വരും. പാട്ട് മാറുമ്പോള് റേഡിയോയില് ചാനല് മാറ്റുന്ന ശബ്ദം വരും. അതും റിസര്വ്വോയര് ഡോഗ്സില് ഉള്ളത് തന്നെ. ആ സിനിമയുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില് ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ ഇങ്ങനെ റേഡിയോ ശബ്ദം വന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും. ശേഷം സിനിമ തുടങ്ങുമ്പോള് വിന്സന്റും ജൂള്സും ഒരു കാറില് യാത്ര ചെയ്യുകയായിരിക്കും. അവരെപ്പറ്റി ഒരു പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തലുമില്ല. അവരുടെ സംഭാഷണത്തിലേയ്ക്ക് നമ്മള് കടക്കുകയാണ്. അപ്പോള് ജൂള്സ് വിന്സന്റിനോട് ഹാഷ് ബാറുകളെപ്പറ്റി ചോദിക്കുന്നു. യൂറോപ്പിലെ ആംസ്റ്റര്ഡാമില് നിന്നും മൂന്ന് വര്ഷങ്ങള്ക്ക് ശേഷം തിരിച്ചെത്തിയിരിക്കുകയാണ് വിന്സന്റ്. അവിടെ അയാള് പോയിട്ടുള്ള കഞ്ചാവ് വില്ക്കുന്ന കടകളെപ്പറ്റി ജൂളിനോട് പറയാന് തുടങ്ങുന്നു. ആംസ്റ്റര്ഡാമിനും അമേരിക്കയ്ക്കും ഉള്ള വിത്യാസങ്ങള്, അവിടത്തെ അയാളുടെ അനുഭവങ്ങള് എന്നിങ്ങനെ സംഭാഷണം നീളുന്നു. അതുവരെ സിനിമ കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ആര്ക്കും ഈ രണ്ടുപേരും ആരാണെന്നോ അവര് എവിടെ പോകുകയാണെന്നോ ഒന്നും അറിയില്ല. സംഭാഷണത്തിന്റെ സ്വാഭാവികതയിലും നര്മ്മത്തിലും മയങ്ങി ഓഡിയന്സും ചിരിക്കാന് തുടങ്ങുന്നു (ഇപ്പോള് മുകളില് കൊടുത്തിട്ടുള്ള ഓര്ക്കുക. ഇതെല്ലാം ടരന്റിനോ ആംസ്റ്റര്ഡാമില് പള്പ് ഫിക്ഷന്റെ തിരക്കഥ എഴുതുമ്പോള് അനുഭവിച്ചതാണ്). ഈ രംഗം അവസാനിച്ചതും വണ്ടി നിര്ത്തി, വണ്ടിയുടെ പിന്നിലുണ്ടായിരുന്ന തോക്കുകള് എടുത്ത് ഒരുവരും മുകളിലേയ്ക്ക് പോകുമ്പോഴാണ് അവര് ശരിക്കും സുഹൃത്തുക്കളല്ലെന്നും എന്തോ കുഴപ്പം നടക്കാന് പോകുകയാണെന്നും പ്രേക്ഷകര്ക്ക് മനസ്സിലാവാന് തുടങ്ങുന്നത്. എന്നാല് അതിനുള്ളില് പ്രേക്ഷകര് വിന്സന്റിനേയും ജൂള്സിനേയും കണ്ട് ചിരിച്ച്, അവരുടെ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടാന് തുടങ്ങുന്നു. ഇപ്പോള്, അവര് ചെയ്യാന് പോകുന്ന കുറ്റകൃത്യത്തില് പ്രേക്ഷകര്ക്കും പങ്കുണ്ടെന്നല്ലേ വാസ്തവം? അതാണ് ടരന്റിനോയുടെ സ്റ്റൈല്. പ്രേക്ഷകരെ ഏത് രംഗമായാലും അകത്തേയ്ക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോയി പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാത്ത ഒരു നിമിഷത്തില് അവരുടെ കരണക്കുറ്റി നോക്കി ഒന്ന് കൊടുക്കുക. ഇതുതന്നെയാണ് റിസര്വോയര് ഡോഗ്സില് കാത് അറുക്കുന്ന ക്രൂരമായ രംഗവും ടരന്റിനോ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. അതിനുശേഷമാണ് സിനിമയിലെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട രംഗം വരുന്നത്. ബര്ഗര് സീന് എന്ന് വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ രംഗത്തില്, ടരന്റിനോ പ്രത്യേകം എഴുതിയ (Ezekiel 25:17 – The path of the Righteous man) ബൈബിള് വചനങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞ് ജൂള്സ് ആ മുറിയിലുള്ളവരെ വെടി വച്ച് കൊല്ലുന്നു.
അടുത്തത് Vincent Vega & Marsellus Wallace’s Wife എന്ന അദ്ധ്യായം ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു. നേരേ തന്നെ ബ്രൂസ് വില്ലീസിന്റെ തലയില് തുടങ്ങുന്ന രംഗത്തില്, ബ്രൂസ് വില്ലീസിന്റെ ബുച്ച് എന്ന കഥാപാത്ര ആരോ ഒരാള് സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് കേട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ് (പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില് കേള്ക്കുന്നത് Let’s Stay Together – Al Green എന്ന പാട്ട്). വളരെ ദൈര്ഘ്യമുള്ള ആ വാചകത്തില് ഒരു ബോക്സിങ് പന്തയത്തില് അഞ്ചാമത്തെ റൌണ്ടില് ബുച്ച് തോല്ക്കണമെന്ന് ആ കഥാപാത്രം പറയുന്നു. അതുന് മുമ്പ് തന്നെ ആ രൂപം ബുച്ചിന് പണവും കൊടുക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. അപ്പോള് ആ രൂപത്തിന്റെ തലയുടെ പിന് ഭാഗം കാണുന്നു. അപ്പോഴാണ് ജൂള്സും വിന്സന്റും രസികന് വസ്ത്രങ്ങളണിഞ്ഞ് വരുന്നത്. അവിടെ വച്ച് ബുച്ചും വിന്സന്റും ഉടക്കുന്നു. ഇരുവരും പരസ്പരം തുറിച്ച് നോക്കുന്നു. അതാണ് ഇരുവരും ഒന്നിക്കുന്ന വേറൊരു രംഗത്തിന്റെ തുടക്കവും.
ഈ രംഗം അവസാനിച്ചതും വിന്സന്റ് അയാളുടെ കൂട്ടുകാന്റെയടുത്ത് നിന്നും കൊക്കേയ്ന് വാങ്ങുന്ന സീന് ആണ്. ഈ രംഗത്തില് വരുന്ന റോസാന ആര്ക്ക്വേറ്റിന്റെ Fellatio സംഭാഷണം പ്രശസ്തമാണ്. ഉടല് മുഴുവനും piercing ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന ആര്ക്ക്വേറ്റ് തന്റെ ക്ലിറ്റില് ഉള്ള piercing എന്തിനാണെന്ന് പറയുന്ന രംഗം. (പിന്നണിയില് Bustin’ Surfboards പാട്ട്) ഈ രംഗത്തിന് ശേഷമാണ് സിനിമയില് എനിക്ക് ഏറ്റവും ഇഷ്ടമായ സീക്വന്സ് തുടങ്ങുന്നത്. വിന്സന്റ്, മാസെലസ് വാലസിന്റെ ഭാര്യ മിയായെ റെസ്റ്റോറന്റില് കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന സീക്വന്സ്. ഇതില് പല രസികന് കാര്യങ്ങളുണ്ട്. Black comedyയും ഉണ്ട്. എല്ലാത്തിനും ഉപരി, ജോണ് ട്രവോള്ട്ടയുടെ നൃത്തവും അപ്പോഴാണ്.
ട്രവോള്ട്ടയുടെ Saturday Night Fever നെപ്പറ്റി എല്ലാ സിനിമാപ്രേമികള്ക്കും അറിയാമായിരിക്കും. എഴുപതുകളുടെ അവസാനം ട്രവോള്ട്ടയെ ഒരു വലിയ സൂപ്പര് സ്റ്റാര് ആക്കിയ സിനിമ. പിന്നാലെ സിനിമയും പുറത്തിറങ്ങി തകര്ത്തോടിയപ്പോള് ചെരുപ്പക്കാരികള് ഓര്ഗാസം വന്ന് തിളയ്ക്കുമ്പോള് ഓര്ക്കുന്ന ആളായി മാറി ജോണ് ട്രവോള്ട്ട. തന്റെ 24 ആം വയസ്സില് പ്രശസ്തിയുടെ ഉച്ചത്തില് ഒരു നടന് എത്തുന്നത് ആലോചിച്ച് നോക്കൂ. ഈ രണ്ട് സിനിമകളും ട്രവോള്ട്ടയുടെ അഭിനയമികവ് മനോഹരമായി ഉപയോഗിച്ച സിനിമകളായിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് ഉണ്ടായ ചില തോ വികള് കാരണം ട്രവോള്ട്ട ഒരു പരാജയനടനായി മാറി, വല്ലപ്പോഴും ചില സിനിമകളില് തല കാണിക്കുന്ന കാലമായിരുന്നു അത്. ഇതിനെപ്പറ്റി കഴിഞ്ഞ ലേഖനത്തില് പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട്. പിടിവാശിയോടെ വിന്സന്റിന്റെ കഥാപാത്രത്തിനെ ടരന്റിനോ ട്രവോള്ട്ടയ്ക്ക് മാത്രമേകൊടുക്കുകയുള്ളൂ എന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതും നമ്മള് കണ്ടു.
